We replaced decades-old HPS lamps with our own Ledium Black Sparkle® LED grow lights. Due to the energy crisis, the Szeged Biological Research Institute faced significantly higher electricity costs, prompting a shift to modern technology.
The traditional HPS lamps, including the ballast, consumed about 450W and had suboptimal spectra for plant growth.
After extensive testing, SZBK chose Ledium’s LED lights. These lights appear cool white to the human eye but emit extra energy at 450 nm and 660 nm wavelengths, crucial for plants. This switch reduced energy consumption to one-third of the original. Additionally, digital control allows individual light regulation via mobile devices, and light intensity can be continuously adjusted based on greenhouse sensor data.
